ELI5: law of attraction
// explanation
What is the law of attraction?
The law of attraction is the idea that your thoughts are like magnets that attract things into your life [1]. If you think happy, positive thoughts, good things will happen to you; if you think sad or negative thoughts, bad things will happen [1][2].
Why do people believe it works?
People who believe in the law of attraction think that when you focus really hard on something you want, you send out a special energy or "vibration" that pulls that thing toward you, like a magnet [3][4].
What does it feel like to use it?
When people try the law of attraction, they imagine having what they want, think positive thoughts about it, and try to feel like they already have it [4]. It's like daydreaming about your birthday present so much that you feel happy about it before you even get it.
Does it actually work?
There's no scientific proof that thoughts alone can magically make things happen to you [1][2]. However, positive thinking might help you notice opportunities or work harder toward your goals.
