// explanation
What is ADHD?
ADHD is when a person's brain has trouble with focus, sitting still, and thinking before acting. [1][2] It's like having a TV remote that keeps changing channels by itself, even when you want to watch one show.
Why does it happen?
People with ADHD have brains that work differently, making it harder to control attention and impulses compared to other people. [3][5] It starts early in childhood and can continue into adulthood. [5]
What does it feel like?
Imagine trying to listen to your teacher, but your body wants to wiggle, your mind keeps jumping to other things, and you say things without thinking first. [1][4] It's like having lots of tabs open in your brain at the same time.
How do you fix it?
Doctors can help with medicine, special teaching strategies, and activities that help the brain focus better. [5] It's not something to be ashamed ofโit just means your brain works in its own special way.
